Carolina Trace has been committed to keeping its community “green” since its inception in the late 60’s and early 70’s – years before the designation “Green” was developed.

For example:

• We are committed to conserving our 2,500 acres of rolling hills and hardwood and piney forests.
  
  
• We practice aggressive green management of Lake Trace, including prohibiting gas motors.
  
  
• With over 50 years experience, our Club golf course maintenance staff is always looking for ways to reduce its foot print on the environment such as irrigating both golf courses from Lake Trace and monitoring its water use daily.
  
  
• The Club is a member of the National Audubon society and is currently pursuing certification as environmental leaders.
  
  
•  A substantial majority of residents use electric golf carts and the Club is replacing its entire fleet of carts with electric models.
  
  
• At least 99.9% of all property is on a privately-managed sewer system.
  
  
•  A highly sophisticated recycling system is located within a few miles of Carolina Trace’s gate and the Club actively looks to recycle at every opportunity.
